Methodology

Scope

The survey covers all employing organisations in Australia (public and private sectors), except:

  • enterprises primarily engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing;
  • private households employing staff; and
  • foreign embassies, consulates, etc.

State data by industry is not available.

Geographic coverage

Coverage includes estimates:

  • by state and territory

Coverage excludes estimates:

  • for geographic areas below state and territory

Sample size

Approximately 5,400 employers

Sample of employers were selected from the ABS Business Register (ABSBR)

Collection method

Online forms and/or telephone interviews.
